Mikala Hill (2017)

Mikala-HillMikala Hill, has worked in education since 2001. As Executive Director of Communications in Burleson ISD, she communicates district initiatives, achievements and information, and serves as a district liaison to support and strengthen community partnerships. Whether serving on the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Burleson Character Council, or Burleson Opportunity Fund, Mikala proactively identifies ways to develop and strengthen partnerships, and raise the bar.

She is a proud graduate of Burleson High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University, her Masters in Education from University of Texas at Arlington, and is currently working on her doctorate in Education Leadership at Texas Wesleyan University.

Mikala lives in Burleson with her husband, James, and daughter, Karter. James is a lieutenant for the Fort Worth Police Department. Karter is a senior at Centennial High School where she plays on the varsity softball team and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Becoming an ATHENA was a special moment for Mikala. She wishes to be a positive example to others, especially young ladies, as she serves alongside this strong group of women leaders.
